
Bedourie is a small outback town located on the Eyre Creek in central west Queensland, approximately 1600 kilometres west of the state capital, Brisbane, 200 km north of Birdsville, 194 km south of Boulia and 483 km south of Mount Isa. In 2006, Bedourie and the surrounding area had a population of 142. Bedourie is the administrative centre of the Diamantina Shire, which also includes the towns of Betoota and Birdsville. The total population of the shire in 2001 was 326.
